How to Use the WGT Wind Indicator & Shot Calculator

This guide explains the Smart Caddie and wind indicator for better WGT results.

WGT Wind Indicator (Clock-Style)

The wind indicator in WGT is best visualized as a clock face. The arrow shows the wind direction relative to your shot. Interpreting that clock correctly is the first step to consistently hitting target:

Step-by-step: Using the WGT Shot Calculator

  1. Measure the pin distance in yards from your ball.
  2. Record elevation (feet). Positive values = uphill; negative = downhill.
  3. Note the wind range shown in-game and use the midpoint (e.g., 6–10 mph → use 8 mph).
  4. Set the wind clock to the displayed direction (12 = headwind, 6 = tailwind, 3/9 = crosswind).
  5. Enter your club's full yardage and press Calculate.
  6. Review the breakdown (elevation adjustment, wind adjustment, lie boost) and the recommended power percentage. Use the aim guidance to offset crosswind drift.

Practical tips & troubleshooting

Example walk-through

Example: 150 yd to pin, +12 ft elevation, wind 10 mph at 2 o'clock, club full yardage 155 yd. Elevation adds ≈ +4 yd, wind adds ≈ +5 yd (clock multiplier), adjusted yardage ≈ 159 yd → recommended power ≈ 103% (use a controlled full swing or club up and reduce power). Practice this exact setup in a few replays and compare results to fine-tune your club numbers.
