About WGT Shot Calculator
Community-built to help WGT players make smarter, more confident shots.
WGT Shot Calculator is a community-built tool designed to help players of World Golf Tour (WGT) make smarter decisions on the course. WGT is an online golf game known for realistic physics, wind and elevation challenges, and competitive play. Our goal is to provide a transparent, easy-to-use calculator that mirrors in-game behavior and helps you dial in club power, aim, and shot type with confidence.
What This Tool Does
- Calculates effective distance using elevation, wind, and lie
- Suggests power percentage for your selected club
- Provides aim guidance for wind drift using the WGT clock
- Shows a transparent breakdown of all intermediate values
How It’s Tuned
We use mild wind scaling (tailwind helps less, headwind hurts less), a downhill elevation model that benefits long clubs more than wedges, and a smoother lie boost that matches typical player adjustments. Short-game wind (chips/pitches under ~35 yards) is minimized or ignored for realism.
Tips for Better Results
- Enter the average wind speed shown in WGT (use the midpoint)
- Use the wind clock selector to indicate direction correctly
- Consider punch shots for control in strong winds or rough
- Practice your power meter timing to reduce mishits
Our Methodology
We design the calculators to be transparent and reproducible. Each recommendation is the result of a simple, auditable pipeline: convert elevation to yards, compute wind components from the WGT clock, apply a conservative empirical multiplier, and adjust for lie percentage. The formulas are intentionally straightforward so players and reviewers can verify results using replays and simple drills.
Contributors & How to Help
This project is community-driven. Contributors provide course notes, reproducible test cases, and empirical club offsets. If you'd like to help improve the calculators, please send reproducible examples (distance, elevation, wind clock, club, and a short replay or screenshot) via the Suggestions page. Verified contributions are acknowledged on the relevant course or change log pages.
Transparency for Reviewers
We include clear explanations and examples on this site so reviewers (including AdSense reviewers) can understand that the site provides original, useful information rather than thin or auto-generated content. If you are reviewing or auditing the calculators, we provide the equations and verification steps above so you can reproduce outputs quickly.
